After completing his Masters degree in Parasitology at University of Texas he attended the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He enjoyed all the rotations in medical school and could not see himself limited to practicing one specialty so he chose Emergency medicine. Following completion of his Emergency Medicine Residency at the UCLA Bakersfield campus he moved to Northern California where he has been living and raising a family for the past twenty years. He takes great pride in having worked with the exceptional physicians at Napa Valley Emergency Medical Group (NVEMG) for the past 23 years. During his tenure with NVEMG, he has served in multiple management roles including Napa County EMS base station Director, Queen of the Valley Emergency Department Director and NVEMG Managing Partner. After 27 years of practice, he continues to look forward to making a difference practicing acute care medicine when every moment counts.

Andrew Fenton M.D.

Andrew Fenton, MD, FACEP, began at Queen of the Valley Medical Center in 2007. He currently serves on the Medical Staff Executive Committee as the immediate past Chief of the Medical Staff and is a former member of the Board of Trustees. He previously was the Chair of the Department of Emergency/Family Medicine, Credentials Committee Chair, and Medical Director of the Emergency Department. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Queen of the Valley Foundation focused on fundraising. Dr. Fenton has been active in organized medicine and was the President of the California Chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians representing over 3,000 emergency physicians in the state. He recently received the “Walter T. Edwards Award,” the Chapter’s highest honor, given to a leader who distinguished themselves as demonstrating the highest commitment to emergency medicine. After graduating with honors from George Washington University School of Medicine, he completed his residency at UC Davis Medical Center, a Level 1 trauma center. Dr. Fenton then completed a fellowship in Health Policy & Legislative Advocacy and remains active in shaping health care reforms at the national, state and local level. He is originally from Northern California and his family moved to Sonoma in 2008. He enjoys spending time with his wife, 15-year-old daughter, and his 11-year-old twin sons exploring the beautiful hills and valleys of the area.

Elizabeth Howse M.D.

Dr. Howse joined Napa Valley Emergency Medical Group in August of 2023 as a nocturnist physician, making an impactful contribution to our newest site at Sonoma Valley Hospital. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of California at Santa Barbara, double majoring in Environmental Studies, and Law & Society. She attended Wake Forest University School of Medicine. Dr. Howse finished her Emergency Medicine Residency at North Shore Long Island Jewish Medical Center with Northwell Health.

When she is not in the emergency department she enjoys traveling the world, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.
