Sonoma Valley Hospital is offering drive-through testing for patients who have been evaluated for COVID-19 by a nurse through the hospital’s hotline at 707.935.5440.  Screening is only for those who receive an appointment based on the nurses’ assessment and referral from the hotline call.

“We are making this important service available to our community because we want to offer a safe option outside of our main Emergency Department for patients to be screened and tested for this contagious virus,” said Kelly Mather, CEO, Sonoma Valley Hospital. “The screening model we are implementing is working well across the country in limiting exposure for both staff and patients.”

Public health officials have determined that screening and testing are necessary and a best practice to track the spread of the Coronavirus and ensure proper treatment for those infected. 

Those who have symptoms of COVID-19 such as cough, fever, or shortness of breath, or believe they may have had contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, can call 707.935.5440 and be evaluated by a registered nurse between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:00 pm.

If it is determined that testing is indicated, patients will be given an appointment for the drive-through screening site where testing occurs.  The appointment-only testing is located in the north entrance parking area of the Hospital (just west of Third Street West off of Andrieux Street).

“We made the decision to provide this crucial service to protect our community, staff and patients. Screening and collection protocols were developed using CDC, CDPH, and UCSF guidelines,” said SVH Chief Medical Officer, Sabrina Kidd.

“Due to the limited supply of test kits currently available to the hospital, we will only be making appointments at this time for symptomatic patients who meet the prescreening criteria. We plan to continue the hotline and drive-through testing as long as supplies and demand last,” she added.

Sonoma Valley Hospital’s COVID-19 Screening Hotline is 707.935.5440 and is available from 8:00 am till 4:00 pm. Calls made after 4:00 pm will receive a prerecorded message to either call back next day or, if immediate attention is needed, to call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
