According to the American Heart Association, cardiovascular disease is the No. 1 killer of women, causing one in three deaths each year. Dr. Szady will review the risk factors that can be managed, such as high blood pressure and diabetes, and discuss new therapies and noninvasive approaches. There will be ample time for questions and answers.

Anita Szady, MD FACC, Cardiologist, has specialized training in advanced heart failure and cardiac transplantation. Her interests include mechanical circulatory support and pulmonary hypertension. Prior to coming to the North Bay Area, she was an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Florida where she also served as the medical director of the cardio-oncology program. Currently, she serves on the editorial board of the publication Cardiology Today and is part of MarinHealth Cardiovascular Medicine: A UCSF Health Clinic.
