Dr. Okolo is a physician leader, academic gastroenterologist, and health system executive known for clinical excellence, education, and organizational transformation.
He has held leadership roles at leading institutions, including serving as Chief of Endoscopy at Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he introduced patient care innovations. He later advanced to Rochester Regional Health in New York and also served as Professor of Medicine and Chief of Gastroenterology at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine before becoming Chief Medical Officer at Sonoma Valley Hospital.
His expertise has earned global recognition from gastroenterology societies across multiple countries, along with consistent national honors in the United States for over two decades.
Dr. Okolo’s interests include healthcare leadership, physician engagement, improving patient access, and redesigning systems for efficiency and equity, while remaining active in therapeutic endoscopy, quality improvement, and education.
